Levittown was a great success, and similar housing developments started popping up around the country. The suburbs were being created. Pasadena was in the perfect location to become a suburb of the soon-to-be blossoming Los Angeles metropolitan area. Californian soldiers rejoiced at the availability of the Cape Cod style, and Cape Cod homes started to be built in Pasadena by the thousands.
